WCIDTA Background

The Western Canada Irish Dancing Teachers Association (“WCIDTA”) is a non-profit society responsible for the administration and regulation of Irish Dance in Western Canada. WCIDTA’s membership includes registered teachers (TCRG) and adjudicators (ADCRG) who are members of the governing body of Irish Dancing, An Coimisiún Le Rincí Gaelacha (CLRG), and the Irish Dancing Teachers Association of North America (IDTANA). WCIDTA regularly meets with its members to ensure the quality of competitive Irish Dance standards and regulations in Western Canada. WCIDTA also organizes the annual Regional Oireachtas Rince to qualify dancers to represent the Western Canada region at the following year's Oireachtas Rince na Cruinne, the World Championships for Irish Dancing.

Purpose of this Website Privacy Policy

WCIDTA developed this Website Privacy Policy to describe the way WCIDTA collects, uses, and discloses personal information and website user information from www.wcidta.ca (the “Website”) to comply with applicable provincial and federal legislation or regulations. The purpose of this Website Privacy Policy is to ensure WCIDTA operates this Website in a manner that recognizes the right of privacy of individuals with respect to personal information and website user information as well as addresses the need of WCIDTA to collect, use, or disclose personal information and website user information.

·       Names, addresses, phone and fax numbers, and email addresses provided voluntarily by an individual who accesses secure areas of this Website;

·       Irish Dance participant information, including but not limited to the following:

o   Names, addresses, phone and fax numbers, email addresses, dates of birth, and historical Irish Dance information (experience, location, age group, and other registration information required by Irish Dance standards and regulations);

o   Personal health information including provincial health card numbers, allergies, emergency contact, and past medical history for use in the case of a medical emergency;

o   Performance information including uniform size, shoe size, feedback from teachers and adjudicators, and performance results; and

o   Emergency contact information such as the names, addresses, phone and fax numbers, and email addresses of students’ parents or other designated individuals,

·       Competition information including the dates and locations of events and competitions;

·       The names, addresses, phone and fax numbers, email addresses of teachers and adjudicators as well as their location, qualifications, and other information required by Irish Dance standards and regulations; and

·       Marketing information including attitudinal and demographic data about participants to determine participant demographic structure and WCIDTA program wants and needs.

WCIDTA may collect website user information from users of this Website for the purpose of WCIDTA’s Irish Dance operations and this Website’s functions. This website user information may include, but is not limited to the following (the “User Information”):

·       Your Internet Protocol address, your browser type and version, the pages you visited from this Website, the date and time you visited this Website, the time you spent visiting each page from this Website, and other diagnostic data;

·       This Website may use cookies, or similar tracking technologies, to track the activity on this Website and hold applicable information. 4.     When we disclose data

WCIDTA may disclose Personal Information to our affiliated organizations, such as other Irish Dance organizations, for the purposes described in section 1 of this Website Privacy Policy and those affiliated organizations will be required to comply with this Website Privacy Policy.

WCIDTA may use third parties to provide services to us which may require disclosing Personal Information to those third parties. WCIDTA will only permit access for the purposes described in section 1 of this Website Privacy Policy and third parties will be required to protect your Personal Information by complying with applicable provincial and federal legislation or regulations. WCIDTA may transfer or store Personal Information to a destination outside of Canada for processing by third-party service providers. If you submit Personal Information to WCIDTA, you are specifically consenting to the transfer, storage, or processing by these third-party service providers.

WCIDTA may be required by a court order, subpoena, search warrant, administrative decision, legislation, or regulation to disclose Personal Information. WCIDTA will cooperate with such requests and take appropriate measures to ensure the requester is aware of the Personal Information’s sensitive nature. Further, WCIDTA will cooperate with law enforcement authorities to investigate and prosecute users of this Website who violate our policies or engage in behavior that is illegal or harmful to our users, members, or organization.

WCIDTA will not indiscriminately collect, use, or disclose information. Personal Information and User Information will be collected, used, and disclosed in accordance with this Website Privacy Policy, except with consent of the user or as required by law.

WCIDTA’s employees, volunteers, and agents will take commercially reasonable efforts to ensure collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information that is provided from this Website is in accordance with this Website Privacy Policy.
